Avoid this place at all cost. My cat was "diagnosed" with what was stated as "a normal immune response that attacks its own body which happens in cats after fighting a cold" with no more explanation nor scientific name. Spent nearly $200 for this vet examination, where the vet spent a bone scrape of 5 minutes examining my cat and the rest (weighting included) was seen to by the receptionist, whom did the vet's job of bringing in the meds and explained what they were; the entire time the very sour vet tech was preoccupied with standing boredly around in the waiting room for her ride home. My cat was beyond stressed the entire time. They also tried to give him a rabies vaccine when his papers CLEARLY stated he had been vaccinated less than three months before (that both the vet and receptionist missed on his rabies vaccination certificate), to which the vet got very aggressively angry about "needing to be done" and only backed off when I showed him the rabies tag on my cat's collar. Bottom line, waste of money and the vet gets aggressively pushy if you don't listen to him or ask questions that they need to be telling the pet owner to begin with. A little over a week after my cat finished his meds, his lip started swelling again so I sought out a better vet and thank goodness I did! If you want someone who actually cares about your animal and makes them relaxed and comfortable the entire time, go to John Street Animal Hospital. The team there is beyond amazing and the prices don't hurt the wallet! The veterinarian was appalled that my cat had been given steroids for the swollen lip and explained the dangers of its affects on cats. Within the first few minutes of being in the room, he diagnosed the swelling of my cat's mouth as an allergic reaction, linking it to fleas by my cat's scratching, licking and ear flicking. A flea treatment, a safe non-steroid injection for the swelling and antibiotics to make sure the swelling goes away safely, and my cat is happy and energetic again and his lip's swelling is almost gone. My cat's carrier was in sight the entire time and not once did he try to get to it, but instead stretched out to chill. The receptionist called the next morning to check in on how he was feeling just as promised. There is a reason why so many rescues use JSAH as their vet! Your pet is treated by the most kindhearted certified staff whom make them comfortable every second they are being examined and only prescribe SAFE and necessary medication.

  • Serge is the best! My Dog loves him, and rarely likes anybody! Service is great, and everybody is friendly. I don't live very close to rouge valley but I refuse to go anywhere else.
